Consumer Highlight: Brittany Glass

Hello, my name is Brittany Glass.

I work at the Ability Counts facility in Redlands. I like my job working at the Redlands facility. I like the people and the environment. I have twin girls, Alexis and Alaycia. They’ll be eleven in June.

I like to take them out to Chuck-E-Cheese, theme parks, and help them with their school projects. I like to work as hard as possible to provide for my kids.

I like to spend my free time watching movies or spending time playing with my kids. I like
mystery movies, sometimes action, depending on what it is. I like to listen to a lot of music, Gospel or Rhythm and Blues. My favorite television show is Love & Hip-hop, sometimes Rap. I like to go out and get my nails done, and I love to shop at Ontario Mills. I like to go out to eat with my boyfriend. My favorite restaurants are BJ’s Brewhouse and The Cheesecake Factory. I love Italian and Mexican food. I have 8 siblings and I’m really close with my twin sister Brijon.

Spotlight On: Maricela Torres

ACI: How long have you been with Ability Counts?
Maricela Torres: I have been working for Ability Counts now for about 10 months.

ACI: What got you interested in this field of work?
Maricela Torres: I got an interest in ACI, because I really enjoy working with people and helping them in whichever matter needed. For years I would come across clients with different challenges and disabilities and I can always say that they were very caring, determined, hard working, individuals.

ACI: What’s it like working with people that have disabilities?
Maricela Torres: I enjoy coming to work everyday just knowing how happy they
all are to see me and I am to see them as well. I enjoy helping them in any work related situation they come across. I try to give them positive feedback daily on how hard working they are and what a wonderful job they do.

ACI: What are your hobbies and things to do outside of work?
Maricela Torres: I enjoy spending time with family and friends during functions were I get to see the family together and just enjoy the blessings God has given us. I also like listening to music and I love to go dancing.

Spotlight On: Alma Reyna

ACI: How long have you been with Ability Counts?
Alma Reyna: I started working for Ability Counts on November 2009 but got hired through the company on August 2010 so I would say going on 8 years.

ACI: What got you interested in this field of work?
Alma Reyna: Well my Mothers brother had Epilepsy and I remember as a child I was terrified of him. So when a high school friend mentioned to me about the job I thought it would be nice to work with them since I never had that bond with my uncle, having passed years ago.

ACI: What’s it like working with people that have disabilities?
Alma Reyna: Working with people with disabilities is definitely rewarding and fun. It can get challenging at times but I LOVE IT! Just seeing how kind-hearted and smart they are makes me love my job even more. I’ve learned a lot from them as well.

ACI: What are your hobbies and things to do outside of work?
Alma Reyna: My hobbies are dancing, listening to music, watching movies, cooking, going on family outings, riding our boat and riding our dune buggy. Most importantly spending time with my daughter and family!
