Ability Counts is now certified by the Department of Rehabilitation to offer External Situational Assessments (ESA) for Consumers that are interested in supported employment but may have barriers that prevent them from moving forward. The ESA provides a limited time (up to 40 hours) of work in the area of the Consumer’s interest under the observation of an Vocational Assessment Specialist. All observations are compiled in a report that is submitted to DOR with a recommendation from the specialist regarding an appropriate vocational plan.
The ESA service is just one of the many ways that Ability Counts is working to ensure that each Consumer has options in reaching their individual goals.
